The Pro/E component manages InterOp interaction with Pro/E formats. This component is in the form of shared libraries.

Prerequisites

The Pro/E Component has no prerequisites. For information regarding platform support, refer to Installation.

Attribute Mapping

The Pro/E component supports the following list of attributes while translating from the Pro/E file format:

Attribute Description
Model Name Name of solid in Pro/E files
Color Color of entities in Pro/E files
Active state of LCS State of local coordinate system (active/inactive)
Layer Name of layer to which Pro/E face belongs
EntityID Unique identifier given by Pro/E.

Note: If a face with EntityID attribute is split, the two new faces will have the same EntityID.

Note: The name attribute is enhanced to include product information if the source Pro/E file is an assembly file (.asm). This additional information is separated from the element name information by a special character, ";" or "

Entity Mapping

Entities that are mapped between Pro/E and other supported InterOp file formats are as follows:

Pro/E Entity Form
Plane plane
Cylinder cylinder
Cone cone
Torus torus
Degenerated Torus sphere
Tabulated Cylinder sweep surface
Bspline Surface bspline surface
Ruled Surface bspline surface
Surface of revolution revolved surface
Fillet Surface bspline surface
Cylindrical Spline bspline surface
NURBS Surface NURB surface
LCS local coordinate system

Note: Pro/E files do not contain explicit definition of an edge curve. The Edge geometry is defined by surface and the corresponding 2D curve of two faces sharing the edge. The Pro/E Reader generates 3D curve geometry based on this data.
