The HOOPS Stream File (HSF) component manages InterOp interaction with the HSF formats. This component is in the form of shared libraries.

HSF is a scene graph based visualization format. When translating from a scene graph based document, this scene graph is used as the basis of the translation. The scene graph structure is passed through the InterOp architecture, read by the HSF document, and saved as an HSF file.

When translating from non scene graph based documents (BRep or Assembly for example), if possible, the document is tessellated and the scene graph is produced internally. When converting an assembly file, the entire assembly is converted to a single HSF file. The Assembly and Part names are placed in the appropriate HSF segments that result from the translation.
