Platform Changes
Windows 7
- R20 SP2 introduces the support of InterOp binaries on the Windows 7 operating system. The Service Pack has been tested on Windows 7 with no resulting critical problems.
Enhancements and Functionality Changes
ACIS Manufacturing Option
- Manufacturing Information for ACIS PMI
- Manufacturing Information (ACIS PMI) can be dumped into XML format using the AcisMiXML application. The text dump (text file created using the -oinfo option of the AcisMiImport sample executable) has been deprecated and is planned to be removed in an upcoming release. Refer to the AcisMiImport sample for more details.
CATIA V5 Reader Component
- Assembly
- In some cases the hidden properties on some assembly components were not translated correctly; this has been corrected. This has resulted in a small change in the structure of exported assemblies from CATIA V5. Refer to CATIA V5 Exported Assembly Structure for more details.
CATIA V5 Manufacturing Option
- Hidden PMI Translation
- The CATIA V5 Manufacturing Option supports translation of Hidden PMI in Parts (not Assemblies) via the TranslateHiddenEntities option. Refer to Translation of Hidden Entities in Connect for more details.
- Hidden BRep translation behavior has been modified when pointed to by PMI. Refer to PMI Data Pointing to Hidden BRep Entities for more details.
- Capture
- The CATIA V5 Manufacturing Option supports translation of Captures in Parts (not Assemblies). Refer to Limitations for more details.

Generic Manufacturing Option
- Manufacturing Information for Generic PMI
- Manufacturing Information (Generic PMI) can be dumped into XML format using the GenericMiXML application. IGES Reader/Writer Component
- String Processing
- Changes made in string processing have resulted in performance improvement in translation time for the IGES Reader/Writer component.
Parasolid Reader/Writer Component
- Support for Parasolid Version 22
- The Parasolid Reader/Writer component supports Parasolid Version 22.0.149 part and assembly files. Refer to Parasolid Component for more details.
STEP Reader/Writer Component
- String Processing
- Changes related to reading and writing STEP files and in string processing have resulted in performance improvement in translation time for the STEP Reader/Writer component.
VDA-FS Reader/Writer Component
- String Processing
- Changes made in string processing have resulted in performance improvement in translation time for the VDA-FS Reader/Writer component.
Connect SDK
- Deprecated Attribute Querying Interfaces
- Three attribute querying interfaces in the SPAXPMIExporter class have been deprecated beginning with this release. They are planned to be removed in a future release. The interfaces include:
- Migrate their calls from SPAXPMIExporter to SPAXAttributeExporter. Refer to the SPAXPMIExporter class reference documentation for more details.
